ROSE OF SHARON - ZIMBABWE
At the Rose of Sharon Children’s Home in Zimbabwe, hope is not just a concept. It is lived out every day. Created in response to the overwhelming needs of orphaned and vulnerable children, Rose of Sharon exists to provide a safe, loving environment where children can heal, grow, and dream again. Many of the children who arrive here have experienced abandonment, extreme poverty, or life on the streets. At Rose of Sharon, they find stability, care, and the chance to build a future.
The home is led by Dr. Fatima Maruta, a tireless advocate for children who have nowhere else to turn. Her compassion, strength, and unwavering commitment have shaped Rose of Sharon into one of the most respected children’s homes in Zimbabwe. Dr. Maruta is widely recognized for her leadership and has been honored nationally for her work on behalf of vulnerable children. For her, this is not just a job or a project. It is a calling.
Under Dr. Maruta’s leadership, Rose of Sharon takes a holistic approach to caring for each child. The home provides nutritious meals, medical care, access to education, counseling, and spiritual guidance. Children are encouraged to grow emotionally, academically, and spiritually, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging. Every child is known by name and treated with dignity and love.
Education is a cornerstone of life at Rose of Sharon. Children are supported in their schooling and encouraged to pursue their gifts and talents. As they grow older, the focus expands to life skills and preparation for independence, ensuring they are equipped to succeed beyond the walls of the home.
Faith is woven into daily life at Rose of Sharon through prayer, devotion, and community involvement. The children are reminded often that they are deeply loved and that their lives have purpose.
Because of faithful partners and supporters, Rose of Sharon continues to be a place of refuge and transformation. It stands as a powerful reminder that with compassion, consistency, and opportunity, even the most vulnerable children can flourish.
